So GFRIEND, a rookie group that debuted in January of this year, is starting to grow on me. I didn't think I'd like them at first since:
1. They're a rookie group. I don't have anything rookie groups in particular, however, I do feel like most of them end up disappointing me in the end. I liked SONAMOO's debut with "Deja vu" and thought they were going to be a female version of B.A.P.-- I was wrong. Their recent comebacks aren't bad but they aren't what I expected from them.
2. They've debuted with a cute concept. Most girl groups tend to debut with cute concepts since they're generally liked and being cute means you're charming to the general audience of Kpop.
3. I'm too lazy to get into more groups. There's WAAAAYYYY to many kpop groups to remember and watch and I'm only able to find out about all these comebacks and groups through Reddit, OneHallyu, or YouTube. So even though the number of groups/solo artists I listen to is relatively small, I do know of many others, I just never got around to listening to them.
But anyways, I didn't think I would like GFRIEND at first. I saw a vine of their dance version of "Glass Bead" (their debut single) and was intrigued. After I saw the video, I was impressed. Their dance moves were more difficult than I thought it would be for a cute girl group and it was also synchronized, which creeped me out a little. A lot of netizens also argued that it was another version of "Into the New World" and that they were trying to be the next SNSD. But then again, which new girl group isn't? Also, these members also caught my attention:
I remember when it was summer and I was reviewing summer comebacks but didn't review "Me Gustas Tu" since I thought it was just going to disappoint me. I recently saw the dance practice version and a live performance and I wasn't let down so I might officially become a fan if I like their next comeback. GFRIEND Fighting!

ShinB
She's the main dancer, a vocalist, and face of the group. She's also known to look like Jessica Jung. For me, she didn't catch my eye because she looks like Jessica and I was trying to fill that void, but because her dancing is really good and so is her stage presence.
Yuju
She's the main vocalist of the group and her voice really impressed me since she is from a rookie group. Her dancing also impressed me, since most main vocalists care more about their singing than their dancing and tend to slack off in that area, due to their voices making up for it.
Umji
She's a vocalist and the maknae. She's really cute and charming and reminds me of Red Velvet's Yeri, whose also the maknae of her group. Her voice is cute as well! I also really like her face for some reason. It's really unique when looking at most female idols.
