I was scrolling through my tumblr feed and I saw this hashtagged #japan debut:
So EXO is to debut in Japan, releasing an album by the end of year. EXO and AOA has been promoting with SPAO for both of their japanese promotions. EXO will also be having a Tokyo Dome Tour in November.
Even though this is a great achievement for them, since they have many fans in Japan, and the only way to go to the Tokyo Dome is to be invited, I still find this highly unfair to EXO-M. EXO's activities are supposed to be focused in China and Korea. If EXO was supposed to target Japan as well, they would've had another six members as EXO-J. EXO-M and EXO as a whole barely promotes in China, and SM has moved that responsibility to Lay, the LAST chinese member left. Them going to Japan for an actual debut instead of concerts defeat the purpose of EXO-M. Besides this, EXO is now going to be responsible for singing, dancing, and rapping in Korean, Mandarin, AND Japanese.
Another thing: Do they need to debut in Japan? Usually, k-groups debut in Japan to attract the japanese audience and widen their fan-bases. EXO doesn't need to debut in Japan, due to their already huge popularity in Japan, Korea, and China. They've already been invited to the Tokyo Dome and yet they haven't even debuted there yet.
I think SM should be more worried about f(x), since the year is almost over and they haven't had a comeback since Sulli's "hiatus". EXO has already had two comebacks this year, so a debut in Japan is too much right now.
