I.O.I released their title track "Dream Girls" for their debut and EP Chrysalis. Let's chat, shall we.
SONG:
If I didn't look at the english subtitles while watching the video, I might have given it a higher rating of 6 instead of 5. The song started with a message of "screw the haters", then to "just be yourself", then pulling a "Genie" by SNSD ("tell me what you want I'll have it come true"), and lastly with the chorus that talks about them being "Dream Girls". I can't tell if they mean that they're the girls of your dream or that they're girls that make your dreams come true. Either way, it's still cringe-worthy.
The rap was great and somewhat saved the song, so I'll give it back it's one point.

MV:
The video lacks uniqueness. I don't really care for originality, as everything is somewhat apart of a trend, style, or is "inspired" by something else. The music video is SNSD's "Into The New World" meets APINK's "Mr. Chu".
- They had the different scenarios where they were overcoming obstacles in their tasks, alot of them similar to the ones SNSD had to come over in ITNW, like Chungha dancing in the staircase like Hyoyeon, and the ballerina and café scenes similar to Seohyun and Yuri's.
- The tennis uniforms were present in both of SNSD and APINK's videos, but more prominent in the latter, as both I.O.I and APINK danced in them on a tennis court.
